SPOCS: Extending its work to 9 new European countries * PDF Print E-mail

SPOCS is welcoming new partnering European countries. The first phase of SPOCS encompassed 7 Member States for a total number of 13 partners. Today, the extension has brought SPOCS with another 9 European countries for a total number of 16 new partners; thus increasing not only the geographical coverage of the project but also its visibility and sustainability.

The new topics covered will among others address how to sustain and scale SPOCS enabled solutions to all sectors and countries. Click here to view the press release.

Impact of enlarged SPOCS

The expected impact of an enlarged SPOCS project is to:

  • Improve the competitiveness of European businesses and in particular SMEs by increasing the IT maturity of PSCs in handling electronic procedures coming from all European countries.
  • Develop technical building blocks that will be re-used for innovative high impact services across Europe.
  • Enable all Member States to quickly adopt the solutions and enable all businesses to benefit from the reduction of the administrative burden.

 

On-boarding newcomers

The timescale envisaged by the SPOCS consortium, in agreement with the newcomers, is to accelerate the on-boarding of new partners and starting a collaborative journey and working on the project tasks on 1st November 2010. New partners will be empowered to:

  • Take part in the development of the modules, thus working on the specifications from a further practical perspective.
  • Prepare for and take part in the pilot phase.
  • Reap the benefits of SPOCS and take part in communication activities around the pilot.
  • Develop a strong EU footprint in sustaining solutions developed.

 

How can you participate?

Ensuring that SPOCS products are acceptable to and adopted by all stakeholders is of utmost importance to SPOCS. * SPOCS enlargement to Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden and the United Kingdom is pending final contractual arrangements.
