WP 2: eDocuments

• Overall objective: enable understanding and recognition of eDocuments and their authentication and validation processes.
  
• Official cross-border documentation needs to be automatically processed regardless of its origin or language.
• Major interoperability challenge: documentation accompanying an application varies significantly.
• Documentation needs to be understood by points of single contact and competent authorities and service providers.
• Documentation’s authenticity needs to be validated respectively.
• Necessity of moving towards interoperable electronic documents → SPOCS will develop: existing interoperability models and common specifications for documents → this will assist convergence and reduce heterogeneity.
